Need a new Computer?
Something Interesting

The first PCs were actually meant to be a video game machines. When the builders of the first Apple Computer (Bill Gates and a highschool friend) built the machine, they never planned on selling more than a few hundered of the "home arcades". I bet Bill Gates never thought that the world today would be dependent on his video game and that he would have a company that has more power in the way the world runs than the government.

By the way...I don't know this for a fact...it's something I have heard before, and I think I got the details right, but if I'm wrong, it will be ok. :-P

Is your computer behind the times? Do you even have a computer? Whatever the case is, you can have a new computer, built for exactly what you want it for. There are a few things that you need to concider when deciding what you need in a computer. To determine this, you need to figure out what the main use of the computer is going to be, and a few other things.

  1. What is the main use of the computer?
    1. Are you going to be playing high performance games?
    2. Are you going to use it to store large files?
    3. Are you expecting to run many programs at the same time?
  2. What kind of internet connection are you going to use?
    1. Do you plan on using dial-up internet?
      1. Do you want an internal modem?
            -or-
      2. Do you want an external modem?
    2. Do you plan on using Cable/DSL?
  3. Are there other computers that are going to be networked with this computer?
    1. Is this computer going to "host" other computers?
            -or-
    2. Is this computer going to use the resources of the other
      computer(s)?
  4. Other things to concider...
    1. Do you want high fidelity audio?
    2. Do you want to burn CD-Rs (or CD-RWs)?
    3. Do you want to watch DVDs?
    4. Do you have multiple USB devices that you would want to use at the same time?
    5. How much desktop space can you spare?

Answering these questions will help you decide what you want out of your computer. Once you figure that out, you can buy your computer. You could go to Best Buy or Circuit City and get the computer they want to sell you, or you can have someone custom built a computer for you.
